How to Use the Interactive Data Dashboard
The Illinois Head Start Data Dashboard's purpose is to help communicate Head Start and Early Head Start Program Information Report data to external audiences in a usable format. The data aims to answer the following key data questions:
- Where are Head Start programs located?
- How is Head Start meeting the need?
- What is the unmet need?
- How does Illinois Head Start serve children?
- What is the makeup of Illinois Head Start teachers?
The dashboard has five main pages:- Homepage: Introduction and guidance on using the dashboard.
- Program Map: Visual representation of program locations.
- Access & Availability: Details on how to access Head Start programs.
- Services Provided: Information about what services are offered.
- EHS/HS Teachers: Insights into the teachers working in Head Start programs.
To make navigation easy, there's a panel on the left side of each page. You can hover over the question mark for help, and use filters to sort data. If you need to contact program administrators, there's a page with their information, accessed via a phone book icon. In short, the Illinois Head Start Data Dashboard is a simple yet powerful tool to understand and support Head Start programs across Illinois.
