GENERAL CONFERENCE INFORMATION FOR ATTENDEES

Welcome, Head Start and Early Head Start Guardians! We're thrilled to invite you to the Region 5 Head Start Conference 2024, happening in person at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Chicago. Let's come together from November 5, 2024 (Pre-Conference)  & November 6-8, 2024 to reconnect, learn, and inspire as we stand united as Guardians of the Future!

The theme "Powered by Head Start: Guardians of the Future" highlights those who work in Head Start/Early Head Start by spotlighting their pivotal role in shaping the future. It acknowledges the dedication and impact of colleagues across all areas associated with HS/EHS, positioning impactful, everyday individuals as guardians or caretakers of the next generation.

This celebration is rooted in the understanding that those involved in HS/EHS play a crucial part in empowering children during their formative years. It recognizes the hard work and commitment of individuals within the HS/EHS who contribute to the holistic development of children and empowering families, addressing not only educational needs but also health, nutrition, and parental engagement. It emphasizes that the collective efforts of HS/EHS practitioners are instrumental in creating a positive and promising future for the children and families they serve, turning the theme into a tribute to their dedication and impact on generations to come.

What are the tracks or sessions planned for the conference?

Conference Tracks include and certainly not limited to: 

• NPRM
• Advocacy Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility and Attendance, (ERSEA) 
• Early Education and Child Development Childhood Program Services
• Family and Community Engagement Program Services
• Financial Management
• Health Program Services (Mental Health, Trauma, Resiliency, Disability Services, Nutrition, Oral Health)
• Organizational Leadership
• Program Governance Program Management
• Workforce/Human Resources

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION?

Full Conference Passes:

• Access to all regular conference breakout sessions & off site field trips
• Entrance to the exhibit hall
• Participation in daily activities throughout the conference (raffles, self station, etc.)
• Welcome reception on Wednesday afternoon
• Lunch on Thursday and Friday

Daily Conference Passes:

• Access to activities occurring on the specific day the pass is purchased

Parking Discount: 

• Parking at a 30% discount for any conference attendees (regardless of whether or not they are included in the room block)
